Tour of the Anglican Church/Cathedral above Town Hall
We were very kindly offered a guided tour by the Sub Dean of the Cathedral, who was one of Marilyn's Business Clients.
We were met by Chris the Sub Dean who gave us a very interesting talk on the history of the Cathedral, we were also given another interesting talk by the church organist who explained in detail how the organ was obtained and installed, we were then given a short recital. The organ was built in England then shipped in pieces to Sydney on a sailing ship, theis was paid for by the ladies auxiliary. The organ has 4000 individual pipes ranging in size from about 70 mm tall by 12 mm diameter to 10 Metres tall and 600 mm diameter.
