Cockatoo Island excursion February 2026
On Tueasday 17th February, fourteen of our members joined together for a great day out. We all caught different trains to Circular Quay, and met up at Wharf No 5 to catch the Ferry over to Cockatoo Island. We chose the ferry that went all around the harbour first before landing at Cockatoo Island.
The weather was perfect and our beautiful Harbour was a sight to see. On arrival we went to the information map and decided which way we would go. We all chose different directions with the instruction to be at the Cafe by 12:30 for lunch.
Cockatoo is a historical site for several reasons, once a penal settlement and later a ship building and repair facility.
A few brave souls took on the stairway to the upper level while the rest of us waited patiently at the Cafe.
We all ordered lunch and the two girls on duty did a great job considering the volume of people there for lunch. After lunch we made our way back to the ferry terminal and back to Circular Quay, where we said our goodbye's and all headed home.
It was a fantastic day out for $2:50 plus lunch, Thank you Dianne for arranging this for us.
